Tyla 3,179 Posted March 10, 2009 Report Share Posted March 10, 2009 i lived in zanzibar for a while and we ate alot of goats. i think they are good as long as they are cooked right, make sure you soak the meat of older ones and then stew or curry them. We never hung them as it was too hot but that might help soften them but also maybe give them a stronger flavour? The taste of the meat can also be affected by what they eat, some of the african ones have a tendency to eat newspaper which makes them taste very strange. We still ate them though i definately prefer them to rabbit but as everyone else has said the younger the better and big old billies are probably best for dog food. Good luck and keep us posted!
