Thanks boys I bought from here http://www.smartreloader.com I bought a Redding Big Boy press, Redding comp dies, and the rest I chose from what they had there. The only thing I had to get elsewhere was the case length guide. I also bought a new Scales, Powder Trickler, Case Cleaning Kit, Case cutter and I'm sure there were other things. The Lee loading manual is good, as is the ABC's of Reloading. I ordered a total of 15kg in weight and it cost me £15 for the lot to come here, extraordinary P&P value I like the Redding, its a sold press, weighs a fair bit, and very easy to use. Good Luck! trappa 518
On that site you linked, does the lee reloading delux kit look good?? cheers Quote Link to post
SportingShooter 0
I must admit I was put off the Lee presses by the amount of play in the action. More play in the action, the more inaccuracies is my feeling, but I may well be about to be proved wrong. It looks a good kit indeed, have a read of as many reviews as you can first Quote Link to post
SportingShooter 0
Just noticed thats its meant to be a Pistol loading kit? Quote Link to post

SNAP SHOT 194
the REDDING BIG BOSS..........not boy...ahum,,,, Is all the press you will ever need....... The lee press When doing larger calibres tends to flex a little throwing accuracy off as concentricity is thrown off.... It will do the job but buy quality once and be done with it..... hornady manuals are excellent as is the lee modern reloading, Abc's of reloading can be bought from amazon.co.uk read as much as possible on what you need to do and understand it...... before setting off reloading by yourself.... If you have someone beside you to show you the ins and outs its worth its weight in gold.......... Good luck. Snap. Quote Link to post

Mr_Logic 5
I use Lee equipment to very good ends. I have a Lee Turret press, and powder measure, with Lyman scales. I haven't tried anything else so can't compare, but the resultant handloads work, and I'm loading 223 also. Quote Link to post
SNAP SHOT 194
Mr L. try lifting the turret up and down in the press... It's slack isn't it.... Now picture this, the die is in the turret, the case is in the case holder in the ram, the ram has no free play apart from up and down vertically.... Now when you seat the bullet look very carefully at the turret and see it rise a little to the opposite side that the die beig used is in....... hence not seating the bullet exactly in line....... The turret press is fine for starting of reloading as your only starting out, but if you want to get the best from your ammo you need tools with as little play in them as possible... I had the lee turret press at the start, but moved it on when things started to progress, Of course this is just my opinion but i think a valid one......... Snap. Quote Link to post
trappa 518
Cheers boys! Some great help here. Unless i can get a bargain now i might end up buying half the stuff this month and half next- went to the garage just now for a slow puncture and they said i will need 4 new tyres to pass its mot next month so i bought 2 today for £180 . Thats most of my spare cash gone for this month and it will be a lump of next months too, but im determined to at least make a start and get "some" gear now. Quote Link to post
