Any pics of foxs in snares or fox runs?

Recommended Posts

I got some fencing nails and a fencing pole. cut the fencing pole down to 25Inches and nail the snare wire to it with about 3-5 nails and when you want to snare a fence line all you have to do is stick the fencing post through the fence and you have and anchoring point.

Nice one  what if there is no fence line for example this photo

How would I get the snare down there?

A closer look

I dont see any point in anyone sticking picture's of snared foxes up on the forum.. ..you will learn nothing from it..

Certain images can cause contreversy the way they are displayed, better to keep things sensible when showing photos as bad ones can cause more damage than good... but the you will learn nothing part, I don't understand, people will learn nothing from a ferret with a heap of bunnies next to it or a dog, or a hawk with a rabbit, or a bloke with a fish, or 5 dead foxes lined up next to a gun, etc... Its about sharing our outings and experiences is it not after all it is a forum based on hunting..

if you start setting snares all over the place without knowing 100% what your doing you may be in for a few nasty suprises ie.dead dogs caught in snares and a few pissed off dog owners :boxing:

Definitely thats why you should only be doing it were you have permission of the landowner and must strive to stay away from public area's were any chance of this happening actually could... Even the slightest chance, and you should either use other methods of control OR use some form of break away device incorporated in the snare at the very least along with signs if necessary as bad publicity doesn't do the cause any good with a member of the public having their pet caught up....

Every snare that I use has a break away on it (ESPECIALLY the fox ones) Iv had my dog caught in some useless twats snare before as it was set on a bloody footpath! So I do respect where I put my snares, a lot of thought and planning has gone into me setting this one fox snare (i've thought of the other ways but a cage trap draws too much attention according the the landowner and lamping is a no no)

But you will learn nothing part.. ..what's that meant to mean..do you like looking at half strangled fox's shitting them self's i certainly dont..why the feck take picture's like that when they should be dispatched ASAP..

I think a dead dog fox/hare and whatever else caught across the gut's is a bit different to a ferreting or hawking picture's dont you.. .. because that's what will happen with badly placed snare's..im not a fan of snaring but it has to be done so you owe the target species a bit of respect by setting the fecking thing's properly..and until that level of knowledge has been learned or gathered people should leave well alone and let the expert's deal with setting snare's..

You can buy countless DVD's gamekeeping, etc that show live foxes in snares and being dispatched humanely, all above board and legal.. So as long as the images or video show an animal being dispatched humanely and don't portray a bad image, fair enough, yes their is a fine line on what should and shouldn't be posted.same as any other hunting subject, theres good and bad points and people involved in them all...

pepole mainly put up pictures of them smiling with gun and rabbit in hand, 100's of pigeons lined up with there wings spread and a shotgun and grinning cammo clad pepole, a fly rod with a 7IB brown trout and a rat or rabbit caught in snare. this is beacause pictures speak louder than words. when they put up a picture there shouting out "look at what a good hunter/shooter/fisherman/snareman i am!!!". for example Ianb your avatar shows a roe and a rifle.

Not exactly, they could be posting a pic to show how they are getting on and not always they take pictures to show how good they are, otherwise the hunting world would be full of twats

Looking at a snared fox wouldn't help him set a snare properly, but it could identify the types of trails and runs they use to him... This is a forum about snaring and trapping, and this is what the original thread starter on here requested, regardless if he is new or experienced, this forum is for helping people learn and sharing experiences on these subjects.....

Whippeter69 firstly ensure you have permission of the landowner and he is aware what you are doing also ensure they are set away from public area's at all times...
