Back out with Nuala

Recommended Posts

Nuala had her first run off the lead last Sunday morning since her accident at the end of January and everything went well :D so we arranged a ferreting trip for Saturday - today. In the meantime, during a walk out on Wednesday, Ellie pushed out some game from the woods duly persued by Indie who hurt his leg in the process and is now lame, sods law  So not only was Nuala going to have her first trip out but she was going solo.

We picked up Mr Roughcoat on the way and off we went. We hadn't been there long when Nuala took off, returning with one rabbit for the bag - good start :rocker: We had a few hours out, but not as long as normal, as it was hard work and we didn't want to overdo it for Nuala on her first time out, especially as she was working alone. We were really pleased with her today, she worked very well all things considered. There were one or two digs, one of them quite a big one  some pictures of our day out below. I forgot the memory card for my camera  and there were nearly no pics at all :stupid: but I found an old one in the bag, so I managed to get a few in the end :D

Finished off with a pint at the pub, in the pouring rain (we finished ferreting just before it started :toast: ) and then home. I think another trip is planned quite soon

This is the first time I have seen this lurcher and I must say I am impressed. I love the way she carries the rabbits, and a good work ethic with her.

One thing is puzzling me though why would you work her with a collar on?
