What time do you go out lamping!

Recommended Posts

its ok this time of year we leave around 8 o clock and come back about 11 o clock or later depending if theres plenty around, but if we are ever shooting in the summer too keep rabbit numbers down it makes very littles odds as theres bugger all darkness, so we just have to go when we feel its suitable

Crazy keeper i worked with in the summer always went put as soon as it was dark

well as in the summer its not dark till say 11pm and light again by 4am thats not so suprising... also in the winter whats wrong with going out as soon as its dark???? il often sit out in dusk, nip home for a cuppa and straight out with the lamp.... so if you could enlighten me on why you think its so mad.... and dont make me laugh with the old "give them time to get out and about"

Its not mad,,just the bloke was a nutjob,,We would meet almost exactly the same time 2wice a week and drive the same route and im sure things got to know this routine verywell,,Take us an hour or two to get round the whole estate and then i would get to my esate acomidation and get stragiht back with the dogs and not be back till hour or so before work and see and kill more game.

when i was workin on a shoot, so as soon as we finished work we had a mooch and would aim to go out three times a night, with a few hours nap between. we went out at as the evenings drew out, one in the middle about 2-3am then again just before dawn untill the owner decided to take us to the cafe in the village. agreed we was very tired by the end of it all but well worth it.
