Guest Rod&dog
Crazy keeper i worked with in the summer always went put as soon as it was dark Quote Link to post
jamie g 17
depends on time of the year. thats why i like the early dark nights you can get out early and get home early. last year as it was dark late we where not getting out till gone 9 and coming in at 4 in the morning be good to live in norway for some many months of the year when its dark all the time ! but the other months of the year when its light all the time wouldnt be as good Edited March 8, 2009 by jamie g Quote Link to post
bigrifle 24
One of the first things to learn about shooting fox is never go out at the same time, or walk the same way round Quote Link to post
clivej 0
Midnight to 2.00am last night . First time in ages to get out with my son. I held the lamp and he shot 3 foxes. Great night for it a good wind was blowing well and just a little rain at times, good moon as well. Got the first one @50m he didn't even look around at us and the lamp was on full, no need to call him in or anything he was to instrested in what he was doing. Bang first in the bag. Second fox was a long way out so called him in to 50m using the caller from Foxcall.co.uk. That was the first time to use that caller and it worked well on this and the next fox. Next fox was @150 out and again called it in to 75m before taking the shot. All in all a good night out. Edited March 8, 2009 by clivej Quote Link to post

Toka 10
Always found it difficult to see the reflected eyes if i went out before dark... :tongue4: ..usually wait until after dark now..... :hmm: Quote Link to post
alimac 882
Crazy keeper i worked with in the summer always went put as soon as it was dark well as in the summer its not dark till say 11pm and light again by 4am thats not so suprising... also in the winter whats wrong with going out as soon as its dark???? il often sit out in dusk, nip home for a cuppa and straight out with the lamp.... so if you could enlighten me on why you think its so mad.... and dont make me laugh with the old "give them time to get out and about" Quote Link to post
Toka 10
especially when you read the stats on foxes... irrespective of the time of year or day, they generally start to move about an hour before dark rising in number till the hour after dark...then it is fairly constant till again an hour before and after dusk...if its dark you have a good chance of seenig charlie Quote Link to post
