ultimate mans dog

after reading the comments on my last thread its clear that its the man that makes the dog,but can anyone really say they have trained a dog up to be the ultimate dog when it comes to taking all game day or night?

cant say its the man that makes the dog you get what you put into it every owner of a good dog might say its the ultimate dog but all owners can be biast about there dog lol

A good dog man will put in the time feeding the dog right, bringing it on right, recognising a dogs strengths and weaknesses, knowing when to hold back and when to push on, but at the end of the day good dogmanship only goes so far and then its down to the dog. If it aint got it, it aint got it. A good dog man will get the best out of a dog but as has been said before many many times, you cant polish a turd and the dog has to have the right stuff or any time spent on it is wasted time. A lot of folk in the hunting world wouldnt know a good dog if it bit them in the shuck of the ass

i no of a man with a 3/4 grey 1/4 bull that takes all game (pre ban of course) and when he goes lampin it jumps owt and he doesnt put it on a lead it just stays even if it sees somthin until its told to chase i have seen this with my own eyes

un lucky for me its not my dog lol

good thread, well said sjm, every man thinks he has the ultimate animal, they do whats right in their eyes, but one mans meet is another mans poison, whats right for me may not necessarily may not be for you, like its been said you only get out what you put in, and there are men with dogs, and dogmen, and thats all.
