Just sold one in 243. They're good. BUT

Aluminium receiver, so not very strong for mounting scopes, in that it's easy to overtighten it and screw up (yes, guilty there). The trigger isn't adjustable to anything really nice, but might be OK depending on your tastes, it's certainly not a bad one.

My rifle shot pretty well, it was pretty accurate with most ammunition, but it felt cheap. Balance on it was good though, despite being quite lightweight.

They also have interchangeable barrels, but for me that's a gimmick.

I guess my overall opinion is that they're decent tools, but better can be had for similar money. Have you considered a CZ? Mine shoots very straight indeed and was cheap as chips. Probably the best gun I ever bought.

Then there is Howa and Remington, both of which are cheaper and better made than the RWS.

I and three mates spent a full day on trying to get one to group !

It would keep shooting a flyer but with no pattern as to when and why.

It did not look a bad rifle and i can only base it on one example but i would not buy one due to my experience.

P.S. Sportsman did not think we knew what we were doing but after they had the rifle back to zero for the owner, Refunded his cash !!

Thanks for your thoughts fellas. I have decided on a Sako 85 in 22.250, bit of a wait, and a few hundred quid more. Hey, it is only money, and think of the pleasure I will get, foxing twice a week.......Plus the rabbiting (.22LR)) and stalking with (Sako .243)....Training the dogs.....Cleaning my rifles.......Rook shooting (12b Beretta SP3)...Skinning/butchering....Reading shooting mags............................................................................

................................................................................

.

.........Soon be fishing season!
