Guest baldie
If they were on public land, then they are in the shit.Laws were recently passed about imitatation pistols, looks like they want a test case. If the land was private, the police will get laughed out of court. Its a great shame the police dont pursue the black yardies peddling filth with as much vigour. :realmad: Quote Link to post
Guest kevsterjw
I assumed it was on private land as it said they asked for permission from farmer. Quote Link to post

J Darcy 5,871
Its madness. While two coppers were involved in that some poor old lady was probably getting broken into. Just what has the world come to. Fair enough if the ladies involved were criminals, but, even if they were on public land i am sure the police could have warned them sternly and sent them on their way. shame. make no wonder that we have no faith in the police forces. shame. Squirrel_Basher 17,100
During the foot and mouth situation,a lot of the killing was done with bolt humane killers as well as .32 pistols.I was on a couple of the culls and we had an inspection one day by the maff and local firearms dept. as they were concerned about the safety of the operators?Such was the panic about getting these beasts shot that licenses were seldom checked. The firearms officer did say that a firearms licence was needed to purchase the blanks for one of these contact pistols and the OWNER of it needed one too.A person could use it as part of his or her job without the license. Never used or seen a starting pistol but is it the same for this.Another case of the old bill throwing their weight about :realmad: :realmad: . Quote Link to post
Guest JOEB
BALDIE & DARCY SPOT ON But..........I think it was a bit stupid to go to a public place and do this??????? These are sensative times and you really must think about what you are doing, if I had been there with my kids, I would have probly told them to feck off and go somewhere private because IMHO doing that at a place like that is just plain dumb I wish the ladys all the best, but think about what you are doing next time and dont give the cossers a chance to be twats. If they had been on there own permission, the cops couldnt have even come on the land unless they had reason to think a crime was being committed, which wouldnt have been reported anyway cause jo public wont be on there. ChrisJones 7,975
Any further update on this case as the summons was issued in January? Like Baldie says a guilty verdict test case would class starter pistols as imitation firearms and yet another useful tool will be confined to the bin. Quote Link to post
Guest The Amazing Dog Faced Boy
This is just another example of the decline in community policing in the UK. Unclear or sweeping legislation, centralisation and pressure to perform ‘statistically’ from media struck government officials will further take the spirit out of the law and leave only the letter. The basic truth, and what it comes down to, is this – honest people are easy to prosecute… so if you can’t catch the criminals then criminalise the people you can catch. Quote Link to post
