Im sure it will be the same all over the UK also, just they dont have web sites showing it. We here in the north east supposedly have the biggest cruelty stats in the whole of the uk.

I just cannot belive that some of the people have done it time and time again. "found in a well known cruelty area" "by people who are know to be cruel to animals" :realmad:

MOLL.

What the Anti Hunt People and their supporters do not realise is that in order for an Animal to perform at it's best, it needs to have the best of care. When has anyone, who works Lurchers, ever seen a emaciated Mange ridden Skeleton on someones Yard?.....I would hazzard a guess at never!

I have seen more GENUINE cruelty cases originate from Pet Homes and Puppy Farms than any Working Homes.

Although I am not trying to make excuses for these People, the Veterinary Practices around the Country do not help. An example would be the fact that it costs anywhere from £200 and up just to have Dew Claws removed from an older Dog. Some tend to put the Operation off due to having to pay for other things, like living. A Penicillin Jab has been known to cost in excess of £18, when a whole 100ml Bottle only cost them around £12. Which means that the Vet gets at least £1,788 worth of profit out of one Bottle. It is things like that, and I am sure guys could come up with a whole lot more examples, which deter the lower Income bracket Households to scrimp on Animal care. I am not in any way condoning Animal cruelty due to insufficient Funds, but it certainly is the first thing most think about when the Vet is mentioned!!

Ignorence is also a major factor in Animal cruelty. It would be better to force those Convicted to go on a compulsory Animal Husbandry type Course, than to just *** them from keeping Animals and a hefty Fine. It could be paid for by thier own Fines.

The Puppy Farmers are in it for the money, plain and simple. If an Animal starts to cost then the care is minimised and that Animal is sometimes abandoned with the ex owner knowing it will get cared for by the Rescue Agencies up and down the Country. Better if they were to have the guts to euthenise that Animal and prevent any undue stress on the Animal and Humans who get involved.

Off my Orange Box now, jmho...sorry.
