Guest world.hunters
went back to nottingham for a week to visit family and do abit of hunting back on the homeground. we didnt have a bad week considering the weather nights were bright and still but still got onto a few rabbits caught the train down on monday and was out the same night Monday night out rew fly and storm dogs running well to pick up 5 rabbits Tuesday night went out again there was me and storm, rew and fly, witton and brackon, we planned on lamping till light and ferreting we lamped from about 1am walking miles and we finished up on a golf course with it now light and accounting for 12 rabbits, at this point we decided we would go ferret the next day. Wednesday morning, me and rew was out ferreting at a spot that recently rew and my brother took 10 in 2 hours but today probably due to the fact of only having 1 ferret working the sets we only acounted for 4 rabbits but was still enjoyable ecept when we had a 5ft mark on the finder for a good length of time only for it to move when we got to around 4foot down lol. got back and one of the rabbits had a lump on the back leg and skinned it to find a jelly like lump with eggs inside it belived to be tape worm larva Wednesday night i took storm out on his own and just to a couple fields and had a further 3 rabbits out of 3 runs. Thursday morning me and rew met up around 7am to catch the bus onto some land to go do a bit of flushing to the guns, after nearly an hour bus journey we arrived at our destination there wasnt much on the ground and hares were jumping up 200+ yards in front of us soon to make safty in the rough cover and to disspear through the headge rows, we only had a few attempts and 1 hare was shot and retreived, Storm and fly flushed a hare that was shot and retrieved out of sight and storm retrieved it back to me over a few fair sized fields. Friday night i was back out with storm again just over a few fields for a quick shine out and accounted for another 4 out of 5 run. Saturday night i took my brother nottzhunter08 out with my storm and his young dog kye for abit of schooling for the pup mainly just to watch and learn. we accounted for another 8 that night and me and my brother had a good night out and enjoyed a long awaited outing. we all had a good week with some good sport and it was good to catch up and do abit on the home ground that i used to hunt on and even though the weather wasnt that good we still had a good bit of sport. just a pic some that storm account for over the week waiting on a few more photos from a couple of lads and i will update the thread W.h Edited March 4, 2009 by world.hunters Quote Link to post
