forgot to say longest ive seen was about 5 minutes, twice, both were doubled up on the lamp, 1 was caught by the dogs, and the other went underneath the truck on a massive hilly field and then the dogs were running around the truck looking for him and then before we knew it he was 1/2 way back up the field and went out of a top gate into the next field... all preban :)

Ive seen a dog do a five minute run, catch and carry back, then about 10 minutes later, do a five minutes and thirty second run, catch and carry back...the dog had run a hare before he caught these two for two minutes, but lost it in sage about 3 foot deep...the dog done two out of three runs that day...

Being something I've unfortunately never seen nor likely to see anymore, I've only got youtube to watch the courses but by christ their amazing!

It must of been a sight to behold, dog and hare flat out! especially if it's your dog!!! Your some lucky guys!

There's a couple on youtube of some Spanish semi finals that are well worth a watch, as there are no hedges or ditches, they cover incredible distances in the 4-5mins that their coursing I can't get my head around a coursing dog (or Hare for that matter!) that could run flat out for 8-10 mins!!

Averaging 30mph for 5 mins is 2 1/2 miles!!!

Each breed to their own I guess!

Cheers

Luke.

around the 10 min mark, trouble is most folk cant estimate the time at all , they nearly always OVEREXAGERATE , there is a dog on film doing a 10 min course. ;)

Was that the Pakistani Lads Dog Tommo? If it's the one i watched? I was willing the Dog to catch but also for the Hare to get away, it was some Course

regularly seen courses 5/6 minuits that happens often but, yes my mates dog the asian lads roscoe ran for nearer 12 minuits not ten as shown on the dvd,the dogs from that line can all stay on a bit..what you have to remember is not just the length of one single course but the length of 3,4,5 long hard courses in the same day,the stamina, fitness and heart in some good coursing dogs has to be seen to be beleived....

I coursed a good fit february hare on the lamp before he must of run well over 5mins admittedly it was with a little bull greyhound bitch and a young dog that had never saw a hare before but what a course the hare got away and it was really deserved  fairplay to the old long ear we will meet again
