dark snipe 0
just curious because some people on here find it a problem that a bull x on the lure is stupid and that it makes it a show dog is there any one else who enters there doggs on the lure just for some thing to do and duz this then make your dog a show dog as some people say I own a bullx and dont enter him in the show ring dont realy see the point in it all.But i will enter him in a coursing event as he enjoys it and does realy well. Guest GoneToGround1
LET THE WELL WORKED BULL X'S HAVE THEIR FUN THROUGHOUT THE COLDER MONTHS IN THE FIELDS SURROUNDED BY HEDGES AND FENCES , NOT ROPE OR THEM RAILINGS THEY USE AT THE SHOWS... Quote Link to post
bullmastiff 615
I'd never dream of calling Roo 'a true working Bull X' as he only gets worked one day a week, were out almost every Sunday come rain or shine on the lamp and as some on here can verify, he will take anything I put in front of him. The other 6 days he gets walks/runs around the park and local fields sniffing corgi pee like the family pet he is. We've now started entering him in the lurcher shows and races for a bit of fun as it keeps him fit, he seems to enjoy it guessing by his wagging tail on the jog back and my family get to see him running (their usually tucked in bed! lol). I see nothing wrong with it, it hasn't changed his hunting style/attitude one bit. Yes your usually up against 28" greyhounds in the racing that have been Lure trained and will keep running straight even if the Lure stops half way. but I don't need the bag of food you'll win anyway! And yes in the ring you might lose to an afgan or be asked about the working marks but Rats are renowned for biting! I'll probably never win a pretty boy rosette with him but usually the entry money goes to local hunts/rescue centre's etc so no harm done. It's usually just about the craic, meeting new and old friends and having a good day out with the family. If it wasn't for the Lurcher Ring at the Westcountry Gamefair we'd of never spotted Roo in the first place! Cheers Luke Quote Link to post
Guest GoneToGround1
IMO a dog needs to be worked more then 1ce a week, just my opinion..... Quote Link to post
