Hi guys

[NO TEXT TALK] made their own crayfish traps before? in the process of making 1 at the moment, but would love to see some picturs of your traps. will post pictures when complete

i caught alot of them last summer, very tasty. i never made my own traps though, cant see the point when they're only a fiver on ebay?

yeah, kinda wish i hadn't been a skin flint and just boought one. my fingers are bleeding from messing about with this mesh! but if it catches, it'll be worth it. anyone know if theyre is crays in the trent at burton?

before i bought my traps off e.bay i used a old diesel drum 5 gallon plastic cut large hole out of front made a cone shape funnel placed in front funnel pointing in drilled holes all around the opening for cable tyes to secure the funnel on the back cut out a door leaveing the back of door fixed to drum not cut just drilled out and used undrilled bits as a hinge then went round the drum with the drill putting loads of drilled holes in it to allow the water flow .then placed some sea fishing weights on the side and cable tied them so the drum would land on its side attach a good rope and launch i used oily mackrel in a tin with a few punched holes .bingo crayfish .

No signals in the Trent at Burton as far as im aware {but who knows for sure?}, but may be a native 1 or 2 but its illegal to take them so be careful and remember your ea licence
