Guest ferreting king
if you go to your local pet shop you can get tick drops or people say get varnish and put it over the tick and it suffocates it and that then kills the tick!
Guest chilli
Vaseline , alcohol will both make the b*****ds drop of . i use a tick remover myself . My bitch had couple recently so ive treated her with duramitex . Was told to get a spray gun an mix it in that so it go's milky an spray it on a leave it to dry . the stuff f****n stinks but its worth it for protection for a good while . Guest chilli
Dont get me wrong moll frontline is good gear but it costs a fortune , duramitex cost £6 an goes a long way .
Kye 77
Do NOT put vaseline, or polish or any "smothering" method on to kill a tick...the reason the Tick falls of when using this method, is because it is being suffocated..they breath through there abdomin...buy suffocating the Tick, its dies slowly, and it realises its dieing...there have been studys over here in the States (and lads, you havent seen Ticks until you have been over here!..lol.) and they have found that a Tick killed in this way releases a type of fluid INTO the dog...it can cause disease, infection and all kinds of horribles...best to prevent with what ever you fancy ie Frontline, sheep dip what ever...but IF you find a tick on you dog, the best thing i have found is to just get them off with tweezers, at the base of the head...even a tick head left in the dog is better than the shit they can inject into your dog!...if ou are carefull, you should get the head out!.. Guest grubygrafter
FRONTLINE DOES THE TRICK ON MY FERRETS ALSO
Kane 2
Gently twist and pull the tick off your dog, if more than a few spray with frontline or duramitex(duramitex diluted with water).Sheep dip is banned I believe gives you cancer jeyes fluid I dont like it doesnt do the dogs any good(damages eyes etc)JMO.
