trapperman 474
hi everyone just a quick question, how do you rate talpex traps to duffus type traps i have always used duffus type traps but on a wildlife management course i did last year some of the guys on the course said they swear by the talpex traps, and the more i read here on this site it seems that some of you guys do to. just wondering if you can share youre thoughts pros and cons etc: i am going to get some talpex to try so any advise on where to get them would be great, and any tips on the best way to set etc: i am thinking that perhaps a combination of traps would be best to cover all situations. cheers Quote Link to post
OldTrapCollector 377
My only word of advice would be to buy the genuine Talpex traps from Killgerm - the Chinese imported junk that so often is offered for sale is a poor second best IMO OTC Edited March 3, 2009 by OldTrapCollector Quote Link to post
mole trapper 1,693
Why put the time into putting a trap in the ground that will only ever catch one, when you can put one in that regularly catches two, doesnt make sense. Quote Link to post

trapperman 474
thinking about it i havent ever been in a situation where i have needed anything other than my usual traps the duffus is pretty flexible and can be used pretty much any where Quote Link to post
Fidgety 8
Talpex is very handy where you you have a mole that consistently fills traps, or a run that is on a steep slope. Not my trap of choice, but handy in some situations. Quote Link to post
glass22 0
I bought some import ones.(the website said Talpex) There AWFUL. Every time I've tried to use them, the triggers been gone off but the claws never closed, completely jammed. Total junk and a waste of money. Quote Link to post
username47 1
Can anyone tell me where to get genuine Talpex from at a reasonable price. Someone mentioned Killgerm but they are far too pricey if you want 200! What I am really after is the importer or even the name of the company who manufacture in Holland. Chris Quote Link to post

They may be few and far between but when you do get one the Talpex is the answer. Regards Chris 1 Quote Link to post

Regards Chris sorry but i didnt make what i was trying to say very clear when i said my usual traps, i do have a few of the old scisser type traps (years old and nice and strong but dont know what make) i use these on a plugger by putting two next to each other and moving the triggers to the inside this seems to work although i still get some misses with it. any tips on the setting of talpex for this situation. cheers Quote Link to post
