pennine lad 0
Just got back from judging the semi final of the lamping competition between LDR and Lamp + Battery. The conditions looked perfect; dark, windy, light rain squalls; but the rabbits were very thin on the ground. At the first drop off, the score was 6 - 5 to L + B, but LDR soon got it back to 6 - 6 ! Both dogs were running well, but with different styles; L + B's Tess runs very like a coursing dog, boxing the rabbits and making some spectacular tumbling strikes, whereas LDR's Bruce is much more like a "typical" lamping dog, walking down the beam and picking up squatters !! The match went back and forward between them, with the eventual out come of 11 to 10 in favour of LDR, who had a slip in hand. So we now have the "North V South"final that some people wanted, but I'm not sure who represents who, as LDR is a Southener who moved North; and Mark is a Northener who moved South !! LOL !! A realy good night out with two mates, shame there had to be a loser. It was run in good sport, with both lads helping each other out with their lamps, some good craic and L + B only fell over twice !! Unfourtunately, as we were packing up we noticed Bruce had jumped a toe, I clicked it back into place, and hopefully no lasting damage has been done. Start of night pic; End of night pic; Cheers. well done, nice to see the lads sporting with each other like you say shame there has to be a loser, nice dogs to Quote Link to post
