Waz 4,266
Your dog should be innoculated against leptospirosis. Rats are carriers. Keep it clean with salt water, and try & not let it scab over. Edited March 2, 2009 by GD Waz Quote Link to post

edzy 3
if you got another dog then kennel them up together they will clean each other nothing like dog saliva to kill the germs Quote Link to post
ABDog 0
Lepto vaccine is borderline useless since there are so many strains of it. Recently spoke to a vet at a practice that was considering doing away with it altogether.. they'd had a couple of cases in a few years and none were of the type the vaccine covered. rob172cup 0
No other dogs just me and my gf!! Should i worry or is it unlikely he will catch anything? Should i take him to the vets? Is there a jab for workiong dogs to protect against rats? he has only had the standard dog jabs at 12 weeks old Quote Link to post
ABDog 0
I would normally clean any wounds I felt were at risk of infection with hydrogen peroxide.. diluted. Quote Link to post
OldNog 432
you will be spending alot of money if you take it to the vets every time a rat bites it . leave it be it will do alright you wait til it meets an angry fox Quote Link to post
