found the solution to my 'loss of zero'

Recommended Posts

i've been having some problems with my rifle feeling that my scope kept losing its zero every now and again when dead rabbits didnt even flinch after being shot at. i suppose they figured if they stood still i'd never be able to hit them.

so i decided to take it to the drawing board and have been getting sub MOA groups at 100 yards with remington accutips. recently however those groups began to open up so i checked everything. cleaned the barrel, took apart the bolt and cleaned it, checked the scope mounts and no difference.

this afternoon then i decided to go for a session on the targets however it was quite gusty weather. i'd bought some federal v-shock and cci 20g soft points as well as my usual remmys. all shooting was done at 100 yards off a bipod and the comparison was a big suprise.

it looks to me like i'll stick to the federal. although its not quite as good as deker's zeroing session :notworthy:

i was in a good mood by then so decided to go for a wander and bagged this hare at a personal best of 166 yards.

i think you might actually be right about that :icon_redface: :icon_redface: :icon_redface: i think a law was passed in the first half of the 18th century that restricted the shooting of game on a sunday. i think they called it the game laws and its one of those laws that hasnt been amended. for example you still arent allowed to drive a horse and cart under the influence of alcohol to this day. A2 british history working its magic. stupidly i didnt think about it at the time.

apologies
