Hedge_hunter27 18
Pointer and myself had another ride out to see Amanda and Scott this morning. Took a bit to find their new house but we got there in the end . We arrived at the pig farm at around 11.00 a.m. and went straight into the pig shed. There was three adult terriers and a pup. Scott managed to flush a couple of rats out from under the pens with the power washer but two very wet rats decided there weren’t going to budge no matter how much flushing and prodding they got . We then decided to try the smoker around the side of the pig shed and after some digging a few more rats were had. The pup was having a go and helping the adults dig so the adult dogs were held back so the pup could have another one and he did a great job, he’s coming on well . Sorry but no action pics, left the camera in the car . EOD Amanda and Scott very kindly invited us back to theirs for a cold beverage and a spot of sun in the back garden on the way back. We had some good banter with a great couple while the dogs ran riot around the garden, cheers Amanda and Scott . Quote Link to post

pointer 543
Ratting is good sport,i get to do various types of hunting and have no preference.Had a nice couple of hours out this morning with the lurchers hunting through the cover.I like it when im able to do a few different things at the weekend after a week at work. The ratting in the release pens is over and so is the access to our favorite rabbiting spots due to sheep and grouse breeding. But the air-rifle shooting will take over and the course fishing starts then theres the sea fishing off the boats and the pleasant sessions catching mackeral and flatties off the piers. Life sure is good to us hunters. Edited March 22, 2009 by pointer Quote Link to post
sounder79 80
Went for a look this morning to meet member Manda and her husband Scott, we arrived at around 10.30 and were met by a really nice welcoming couple . After introductions we were off in the car to a pig farm where we were met by one of their friends. There was five adult terriers and Manda’s new pup. The smoker and shovels were used for the first section. The pup was allowed to rag on a few to get a feel for it which he soon got the hang of . After getting a couple more from under the pig sheds by being flushed out by Scott using a power washer we moved back around to the side of the sheds with the smoker again where a couple more were had. The adult dogs were held back for the pup to get this one and despite him being nipped a couple of times he didn’t let go and made his first kill :clapping: . Well done the pup, looks promising . 12 decent sized ones and a couple of little ones. A great couple of hours, thank you for the invite . great pics, i fancy the black and white ,nice looking dog welll done a t b Quote Link to post
