trappa 518 Posted February 26, 2009 Report Share Posted February 26, 2009 (edited) When making nets what would be the difference with 2mm and 3mm draw cord (and please no smartarses saying about 1mm please) Im making purse nets but want to know the difference between 2mm and 3mm , which is prefferred and why, and why some is flat nylon braid , some round. postiepaul 0 Posted February 26, 2009 Report Share Posted February 26, 2009 both perfectly suitable. i think flat braid is more prone to fluffing at the ends unless you singe it or otherwise seal it. I prefer 3mm because the slightly heavier weight and thickness seem to give a better lie when setting the net. 2mm can be a bit fast running, particularly on nylon nets causing handling problems. overall happier with 3mm.
