well we chanced apon a younge fallow buck 2 nights ago and it was my turn too gut, skin and buture it but we had forgoten our filet knife which we usually use for processing deer so i had used my small pruning knife :wallbash:post-25735-1235658806_thumb.jpg

so i started off staright into its stomach and too my surprise without any efort like a knife through butter all the way from the bollocks too the rib cage riped the innards out for mr reynard and strung him up by his back legs...post-25735-1235658933_thumb.jpg tidyed my mates yard then got onto skinning, went around the ankles and down the inside legs too the belly cut peeled the skin off helping with the pruner round the joints all the while the knife doing the work that i thaght would be a crap job....

got too the head around the neck and twisted it off twisted the joints off and cut the tendons again pruner going though like molten lead through butter.... :icon_eek:

now came the tricky part butchering the twat

did the back legs first cut em wide and bent the joints off came off easyily with the knife sliding too the bone :big_boss:

fillet it and jointed the rest of it without a hitch :notworthy:

i swear ill never own another knife :gunsmilie:

sorry i went on a bit but the knife was only £2.50 new :icon_eek:

good hunting all FF

We used to have a knife that looked like that when I worked at the pit we used to call them belt knifes for cutting rubber conveyor belting.

They are very good and sharp, I once saw a bloke cutting some belting but cutting it the wrong way pulling the knife towards him and he wouldnt be told and when it slipped it cut him deep from his knee up his leg about 14 inches, blood every where.

Wouldn't it be easier to explain to plod if you get stopped with one of these knives, than a folding lock knife..
