Hi Tomo go to your nearest undertakers. All coffins are made from oak they are usually glad to get rid of all the off cuts. Thats were i get mine from.

I used to assemble and polish coffins and there oak veneered chipboard, with a little bit of oak moulding pinned on top and bottom

WELL LADS ,

IVE HAD A CHUCKLE READING THIS THREAD .............. :D

LEEVIEWS RIGHT , MOST OAK IS VENEERED AS ITS EXPENSIVE .... VERY EXPENSIVE

SAME AS MOST HARDWOODS ......... OAK USUALLY RUNS FROM £ 15 A CUBIC FOOT FOR RECLAIMED UP TO £ 45 FOR TOP GRADE ENGLISH OAK A CUBE ................

PERSONALLY I THINK AXHOLME HAS THE RIGHT IDEA ,........... STOP AT EVERY SKIP AND HAVE A RAKE THROUGH ANY OLD FURNITURE ETC ... THE BOARDS MIGHT BE VENEER BUT THE LEGS RARELY ARE ON FURNITURE ....... KITCHEN CUPBOARD DOORS ARE OK HOWEVER MANY ARE MADE BUTCHERS BLOCK STYLE AND UNSUITABLE FOR GOOD PEGS AS THEY HAVE WEAK SPOTS DUE TO THE AMOUNT OF JOINTS

IVE MADE HUNDREDS AND HUNDREDS IN A HOUR .. MANY TIMES ....... OFTEN TURNING OUT A THOUSAND PEGS IN TWO HOURS WITH A GOOD TABLE SAW AND MY JIGS

ALL THE BEST
