young_london_hunter 9
A couple of questions regarding training my 20 month old GSP Firstly I am thinking of getting ferrets and need to know whether or not this would make him really unsteady as in if i let him chase the rabbits. I know most people will tgubk that it is obvious but i only ask as i know of a gamekeeper who hunts rabbits and foxes with his GWP'S and still uese them for the gun, beating and pickcing up . Secondly somestimes when i am doing long stays i.e 4-5 minutes as i walk constanlly round a field he will lie down. He won't move but he lies down is this bad ? Also his retieving instinct is not particulary strong is this something to be worried about ? Thanks in advance Tom Quote Link to post
shotup 9
dont let him chase rabbits, he must learn to watch them and retrieve them but be steady at the sight of rabbits and other game. Quote Link to post
Blakloks 5
dont let him chase rabbits, he must learn to watch them and retrieve them but be steady at the sight of rabbits and other game. good advice if your beating and your dog sees a wabbit its on to the next beat cos your dogs charged through and scattered the birdies!!!!
