i went out again today to try my luck i arrived at the wood about 3.30 pm got the tikka 243 with me havent used it in a while i usually use a 308 but i sold it on the weekend so i am now back to 243 only for a week or two as i am getting my self the new sako 85 anyway back to the stalk. so i am taking my time glassing even more than usual, very slow steps they werent going to get the better of me today looking in through the trees, hard work looking amongst the trees you start to imagine theres deer i had only been there about 20 min then i saw the shape of a deer about 70 yards in to the woods. i stop instantly good it hadent seen me i looked through the binnos i could see it was a yearlyn doe so i set the sticks aimed just behind the shoulder pulled the trigger thump it lunged forward and ran on into the wood out of site i was confident it wouldent go far so i waited for what seemed like ages but probably it was about 10 min i went to where it was stood, found some blood so i followed the trail in to the wood to find it there about 15 yards from where i had shot it lying dead perfect shot :clapper: i was well chuffed been waiting all season for this one but it been worth it the hours i have spent there watching the rabbits and squirrels going about there business and not knowing i was there while i was waiting for the elusive deer. when i know how to upload the pictures i will put them on
