WHITEYrs4 29
I know alot of you will think this has got nothing to do with hunting but tarantulas are one of the best hunters in the world! Anyway been out of work for a week or so doing stuff around the house which needs doing then I decided to make myself a tarantula vivarium from scratch. What do you think? This is the finished result This is the left hand side of the tank you can see ive used poison ivy, 3d rock face and artificial plants. I also used real moss on the logs This is the right hand side of the tank where I have my brazilian white knee tarantula[ Acanthoscurria geniculata]this is the proper name to it try saying it when youve had a couple of cans! She is 7 inches in diameter if you stretched her legs out I think she would be a little bit bigger! Ive had her since she was pea size. I have made my own water dishes out of wood and wood filler stained them and then clear varnished them, I think this makes it look a bit more natural. This is my little skull I stuck in the poison ivy make it a bit more weird looking! This is a northern gold also known as [Grammostola sp. "North"] she is just over 4 1/2 inches in diameter very placid tarantula! You can handle her similar to the chili rose tarantula Couple more pics of the tank with the light on Hope all enjoyed it and thanks for looking.

TIMMAY 6
very nice mate, are the rock faces exo-terra?
gnipper 6,411
They look very nice mate but the substrates could do with being at least 4" deep to allow for burrowing and also a bit of moisture to help them with their moulting. Also they aren't exactly fond of the light so i'd switch that off. The crickets/locusts can avoid the T for a good while too with all the climbing frames you've given them as both those spiders are terrestrial and unlikely to chase their prey like some of the arboreals do. The tanks woud be ideal for something arboreal too imo like a Indian Ornamental or Sun Tiger (Psalmopeus irminia) Good luck with your spiders mate.
