Kaiserdog 20
Both of my ferrets are getting on a bit now, & so i want to get a couple of younger jills to refresh my hunting team & give the old timers a well deserved rest, will it be okay to let them all live in the same court or, house them seperate? At present i have one vasectomised hob & a spayed jill. Quote Link to post
stubby 175
dont see why not, ferrets love the company of others, Quote Link to post

Kay 3,709
Just give it a try & see how they get along, sometimes it works sometimes it needs several attempts Quote Link to post
farlap 19
Just give it a try & see how they get along, sometimes it works sometimes it needs several attempts its usually ok but you could also try a small hutch inside your ferret court or a few days (new ones inside it) before letting them all together. thats what we usually do. doddsy1970 9
In my experience i have found that ferrets take to kits straight away and in some cases they try to mother them. You can only but try and see how it goes. Quote Link to post
The one 8,511
There socail animals i reckon they will get on fine Quote Link to post
Vissertje 0
I don't agree entirely. My experience is that quite often when the agedifference is more than 3 years, it's not such a good match. Young kits may be far too playfull en energetic for older ferrets. In that case personally I would prefer to keep em seperated. On the other hand: every ferret is different. So the only way to find out if you can match your kits up with the older ferrets is to just try it and see what happens. Good luck & let us know. Quote Link to post
max abell 196
As farlap said in his reply put the new kitts in a cage in the ferret court first for a day or so We added 5 new kitts to our team last year to add a bit of fresh bloodlines and we done this opened the cage in the court and never had any probs thankfully the oldens were more intrested in the cage smells and the kitts more interested in the court eventually they all had a play together and seemed to enjoy each others company went out to the court in the morning and they were all cuddled up together asleep AAAAHHH as my wife put it GOOD LUCK YOU SHOULD HAVE NO PROBS Quote Link to post
