rimfire in cover or not

just a quick question when out lamping in my disco when moving from field to field if going on the road do i have to sleave the gun its a rimfire

Technically if its out of sight and unloaded, i.e. unloaded and covered, then you are within the law.

 

But a slip is always best, a secure gun cover in a public place is what the FEO's work to

Agree with SS, put in slip - be seen to be doing the most sensible thing, and youre less likely to get hassled.

And you're also less likely to damage the gun/zero setting.

 

Don't think you can technically get done for it, but no point inviting trouble.

If your not putting it in a slip put it on the back seat unloaded and cover it with a jacket ,i always think the less folk see the better
