Where can we go??

Recommended Posts

My sister and I both have a lurcher each. One is saluki x and the other we think is deerhound X. Both dogs are rescue. We walk them for around 2 hours a day and they love nothing more than chasing bunnies :)

We would like to know how to find out the best places locally to take them to do this safely and without the worry of families in the park witnessing the slaughter....can be a bit embarrassing! We are in the redditch/bromsgrove area of the midlands. Any help would be great.

Good choice of words to use.......'slaughter'...........

Yeah well we have to laugh about it! We want somewhere 'deep' in farm land with no roads to worry about. Also looking to learn more about working them. The saluki x is a stunning specimen of muscle and is a very adept hunter....even things she really shouldn't but no one saw so .....PHEW!

Jessy - I don't wish to get into any slanging matches here but I would like to point out that having read a few of your posts you seem to like stirring things up. I AM a novice and don't wish to become an expert in anything. I am more than happy to take advice from anyone offering it and to use my own intelligence to interpret it how I see fit. An 'off-the-cuff' remark about not getting caught made me smile, NOT want to go out in army combats and twigs in my hair! Not everything in black and white IS black and white.

On the note of novices I'd like to quote one of your previous posts..........sounds to me {and i dont know any thing } like a case of some thing different ,we cant have that so lets get rid of it incase it changes the way we have always done things .a typical british reaction.

You'll notice how I highlighted a particular section?

One more quote (as I'm feeling generous) from your posts.........if you dont have a decent answer then ,please dont make any more stupid remarks ,thanks.

Can I offer you two words? PRACTICE.......PREACH

Surely this would be a nicer place to be without unnecessary comments meant only to annoy?

My first piece of advice before you venture anywhere near farmland is make sure your dogs are 100% STOCK BROKEN then and only then consider taking your dogs and letting them off in the countryside also make sure recall is spot on as once your dogs see stock or happen upon new scents they will be gone possibly never to return

What's anti's? Sorry all but I'm not up with the lingo.

People who talk of the "slaughter" of rabbits...............

Oooh Sorry :icon_redface:

Don't mean any offence and we only use that term as a way to quietly giggle about 'the families in the park' expected reaction.

Be gently on me, I'm ignorant
