Guest world.hunters
Just the same as any breed of pup mate. start doing retreiving training with a couple of rolled up socks. and get him learning his name and the recal command and just general basics. but dont over do it a couple retrieves a day is enough and you dont want the pup getting bored keep it all a game and reward him. a thing i like doing is getting them out asap in the fields through the woodland etc when im out with the air rifle and further there progress of recall retreiving and basic commands and out with the ferrets just for them to watch and learn. when feeding mine aswell i like to make them sit and wait with there bowl in front of them untill i give the command for them to starting eating it. hope this info helps i could go on and on lol W.h Quote Link to post
arcticgun 4,548
The best bit of advise anyone has given me is to turn and walk away when you lose patience and feel like murdering the pup, good luck mate, atb Richard Quote Link to post

MR POACH 2
the first thing you should train any dog is its name , then closely followed by a one word command for the dog to come back , the recall is very important , it doesnt matter how many tricks the dog learns sit, stay , leave , down , if you cant get your dog back especially if your getting a bullx as some / not all have a tendency to fight other dogs , and if you cant call your dog back and stop this occuring then you could be having some problems , also if your planning on running game through woodland areas , certain quarry can and often will take your dog over a long distance, well out of sight , and the bullx is renowned for its prey drive and can be very head strong and you may need to get the dog back a.s.a.p . personally i wouldnt be without a bullxbut if you get the chance to go and see one work id take it ant weigh up all the plus and minus,s good luck in whatever you choose MR POACH Quote Link to post
