lurchers 2,754
I understand that Woods. But what he said was something like that nowadays lads are too quick to dig instead of waiting for the terrier to come out, stand back and wait for the fox to bolt. I know the man has a well deserved reputation but sometimes those who have a legendary status in the game are not all they seem. Also IMO the gentleman is probably more of a hound man than a terrierman and hound men rarely have a good standard when it comes to terriers. They want their terriermen to be the best but not necessarily the terrier. I seen an interview with Mr George Newcombe once and he stated he was completely against badger digging, and he working terriers in a time when badger digging was legal and respected whilst breeding 18lb 16 inch terriers ??? No disrespect to anyone because it's a hard game to get any respect at all but just always found Mr Westmorland's opinion strange but one that he's completely entitled too. George was a funny old man and a bit arragant at times especially when he had a couple then the most ignarant person you could meet over bedlingtons. 1 Quote Link to post
