Umarex 850. Any good??

Recommended Posts

Hi all. I'm thinking of getting an Umarex 850 and was wondering if anyone of you has any experiance with these? Before any body says CO2 isn't any good etc, I use a Crosman 2250xt and have had no complaints about it (so long as it's not very cold out!). Cheers!

hi mate, i have one . good gun light, accurate but expensive to run. i brough i BSA Lightning 7 months ago, and would not look back. The umarex is expensive to run, Co2 being about £10 for 100 shots, and there not that high powered, to save Co2.Also like you mention it effected by the cold, so when i am walking around my range and zero is effected. Personaly i would go for spring or PCP. However if you like Co2 guns the umarex 850 air magnum is one of the best on the market. I would say, if your desprate for Co2 go for the umarex but other wise its spring or PCP for me.

Thanks for that. I mainly use an HW90 for most of my shooting, but I use CO2 for closeish range pest control. The Crosman's a great little tool but I'd like the multi-shot option of the 850. Did you find it reliable? I've heard some reports of jamming. Thanks.

No i never had any problems of jamming, but i know how it happens. When you push the bolt forward, (to load the pellet) make sure you push it all the way forward and dont pull it back, if you decide not to shoot. or else the magazine turn with half the pellet and the other half stays in the barrel. I only used good quality pellets, dont know if this had any effects.
