Alaunt 4
LDR and Bruce...... What was the winner in the uplands comp Quote Link to post
twoface14 1
I think the "bye" should stay; it happens in all types of competition, including Coursing. If you opponent can't run, you get a bye, simple !! I think the draw and the timing of the rounds should be tightened up; drawn out the hat and strict limits on when a round can be run. I think this comp has been run well, even if it has gone a bit over schedule, considering it is the 1st one, and a minority of people have tried to spoil it !! Looking forward to the 2nd semi and the final !Cheers. A bye in a coursing comp don't mean you don't have to run. you still have to run your just guaranteed to get in the next round. if there are two bye dogs they run each other or if only one it runs on its own or a stand in and all get in the next round excepted the stand in. twoface14 1
don't agree, every time a dog runs it has the risk of getting injured more so if its not up to scratch fitness wise, if you get a bye and don't have to run your getting an advantage over the others who have to compete and push their dogs. I think you're reading into it all a bit too much mate, this comp is just for a bit of fun and to get people together who might not always meet, and lets be honest, all the people in the comp will be working their dogs in between heats anyway...................but its not the waterloo cup, its just a few lads getting out doing a bit with the dogs, just with the added bonus of winning a few quid and some bragging rights on here...........simple is as simple does mate.................. Well i disagree with you as most in the comp will be out lamping ect anyways between rounds , there dogs could get knocked up or injured during these forays. To reiterate , dogs have a month in between rounds so giving time as in organised coursing is Irelevant. Anyway LDR took HIS time out to organise a comp for a bit of craic so id say its up to him to chose how he runs it. There is nothing stopping anyone else taking THEIR time out to organise and run a comp how they see fit but somehow i dont think there will be many takers ? well said maxhardcore you tell em Quote Link to post
twoface14 1
don't get twisted up max no ones knocking LDR was just MO about a post talking about if the bye needed changing if the rules are set in stone then theres no need to put any posts about the rules on here besides saying anyone entering these are the rules like it or lump it.
