LDR 29
Right then as you will know there was a few problems with the 'BY' thing this year, we've got a few ideas of how to get round this, but what are peoples thoughts on solutions for it??? Lets try and keep it constructive too guys............ Quote Link to post
Tallyho 181
im a thick fooker , what is BY ????? Quote Link to post
collie/grey 238
I thought the by was a good idea. But lets say 2 contestants from different heats get a by, i think the 2 with a by each should run each other, that way they have still ran against someone to get through. Quote Link to post
LDR 29
im a thick fooker , what is BY ????? When someone in a heat cant run the other person gets a 'BY' through to the next round without having to run it...... Quote Link to post
Guest SJM
Collie/Greys idea sounds a good one to me Quote Link to post
LDR 29
The only problem is it messes the number which will knock onto the next heats....... Quote Link to post
undisputed 1,664
im a thick fooker , what is BY ????? When someone in a heat cant run the other person gets a 'BY' through to the next round without having to run it...... Why change it....just giving yourself more headaches....keep it simple people know the script if you cant compete for whatever reason and an alternative cant be sorted out its a bye into next round....thats what happens in any competition....you cant please everyone mate...keep it simple! scouser3038 1
Think a 'By' should be a 'By' its the luck the draw if the person your running cant make it, should keep things nice and simple too. Quote Link to post
Clipper 207
stick with the by rule ,, but if the two competing argee on a later date say two weeks later due to an injury, than that would be sporting,,, but the match shouldnt be allowed to drag on Quote Link to post

The reason why we wanna try and change it is people seemed to think that people could get through alot of heats without having to actually run. There's a couple of ways that might be on the cards or we might just keep it the same but put a strict time scale on it, no ifs no buts!!! Quote Link to post

undisputed 1,664
The format youve used throughout has been sound mate bar a couple of whingers....some who wern't even running so as I said keep it simple the more rules the more room there is for complaint...I agree the timescales should be short if re-arranging....all in all the comp has went well...so well done Quote Link to post

Clipper 207
yeah a two week gap due to injurys if agreed by both partys would be fair Quote Link to post
chartpolski 23,718
I think the "bye" should stay; it happens in all types of competition, including Coursing. If you opponent can't run, you get a bye, simple !! I think the draw and the timing of the rounds should be tightened up; drawn out the hat and strict limits on when a round can be run. I think this comp has been run well, even if it has gone a bit over schedule, considering it is the 1st one, and a minority of people have tried to spoil it !! Looking forward to the 2nd semi and the final ! Cheers. Quote Link to post
