Guest AngelicAcid
Ive just got a new pup and started training her, but everytime i go out with the pup my older bitch howls until i come back. Even if ive had her out and fed her up she still howls, its really really bad. Ive tried going back every few minutes and praising her, gradually incresing the length of time over 2 months, still howls, need help a.s.a.p. No stupid answers like kicking the shit out of the dog MUPPETS. . Just to add every time i go out the back even without a dog then she does the same thing. richard25 0
if you got someone else in the house get them to give her a quick correction or get them to give her a quick splash with some water? its a hard one as your obviously cant be there to correct her other than that i would think of moving her from her regular spot where she is seeing you leave from & placing her somewhere new? Alright mate, new on here but I have had a similar problem with a dog and a pup dog. It's because they're sort of jealously competitive. If you praise it or give it a bone or anything it will reinforce the behaviour of the howling as it will see howling is rewarded, You have to start putting the dog in it's place at other times like when you have been out without any dogs, coming into the house or the yard and totally blanking them and when your doing stuff totally blanking them, only aknowledging them when you want to, if you do it with the pup you will see it will catch on quick because it stil has its pack instincts, but the older dog will be a bit more humanised and yelp til it gets it's own way, you gotta just be patient and persistant, I have just corrected mine and I also had problems feeding them as the older one wanted all the food and would yelp madly if put in the cage whilst tryin t fed the pup, now I can put the dinner out tell them to sit, feed one, give the other a little pinch behind the neck and it will just watch and wait, then feed the other and do the same. Might be best at first to take them out together a lot. When the dog yelps or winges for any reason, correct it straight away and let him know ya not having it, if you leave it for a bit til it pisses ya off,she knows she's pissed ya off so either way she's got ya attention, if you correct her straight away and then keep doing what ya doin and repeat this, she will begin to associate thatyelping gets stopped and does't get a response like pissed off angry or even a stroke or anything.
