Coatesy900 0
After he pops up, I usually run him through about three more times through different holes and if he still keeps appearing, I can be pretty sure nothing is home. If it doesnt reappear after about ten mins it probably means hes trying to shift a rabbit. As well as being quiet, make sure you arnt standing directly in front of the holes, as if the rabbit sees you waiting when hes about to make a dash for it, it will probably back off into the hole again. The one 8,463
You just got to know your ferret mate if mine dissapear for more than five /ten minutes i can say there into a rabbit if they start showing at all the holes i will lift them ,But i dont class mine as a working ferret till they have done a couple of seasons graft in the first season i check the burrows after they have worked it with a older ferret Quote Link to post
tony d 0
as the guys above say really. my ferrets and my mate's ferrets tend to stay down only showing occasionly or not at all if there on to something. but if theres nothing there they tend to pop in and out all the time. cheers tony Quote Link to post
doddsy1970 9
I find that my ferrets will appear at the entrances but if they dart back down then i know there is more in the warren. If on the other hand they come out and start messing about then i know that it's empty. As previously said it is all to do with experience the more you do it the more you will understand your ferrets. Quote Link to post
