woz 260 Posted March 3, 2009 Report Share Posted March 3, 2009 (edited) managed to get out today and try some home loads i have been playing with, i was shooting rested at 200 yards with good weather and no wind.. with accuracy like this who cares if the barrel life is 25% less than 223 a decent 22-250 correctly load developed and with a good scope is the daddy for fox work Edited March 3, 2009 by woz Quote Link to post

Load? rem 700 vssf,jewel trigger and heavily breathed on by mike norris of brock & norris custom rifles..load 50g v max.36.4g varget.cci br2 primer.without going into the workshop and getting the book i cant tell you seating depth etc.. Mr_Logic 5 Posted March 3, 2009 Report Share Posted March 3, 2009 So it's a fantastic group, and the rifle shoots great, but if it didn't produce groups like that you'd be miffed, right My old Sako 75 Varmint in 22-250 used to do similar (not sure exactly at 200 because I only fired targets with it that far a couple of times) - if it wasn't a thumbnail you were grumpy, and that was with Remington factory ammo. A fantastic rifle for sure - if it hadn't been so heavy I'd have kept it. TBH, I wish I had really anyway, it was that nice! Quote Link to post

TBH, I wish I had really anyway, it was that nice! i shoot alot,probably three or four times a week..today everything fell right,i was in a good mood my hands wernt to bad and the weather was good..so it all came together well, we were getting 4" groups at 540 yards..i went out friday night and couldnt hit a barn door,i missed atleast 75% of the stuff i shot at, to the point i let my mate shoot and i drove most of the night...with all the advise that gets posted on hear iv never read anyone saying that accurate shooting is mostly to do with being/feeling right at the time..
