You dont need a 400 m lamp for airguns mate , a logun lamp will do fine to 40 - 50 yds , just look to get a bargain , thats all . Although i do have a deben tracer , and a logun , i dont really worry which one to use , its generally which one i grab first .

talk to this bloke mate,

(i had no end of issues with my Logun lamping kit)

I have a tracer max and they are the boll***s.

but for an air rifle, you don't need the max, go for the compact.

i never use the full beam at 400yds, and thats with my hmr!

I agree about the logun lamp as they are total pants, I went out last night with my mate who has one and he could not see anything beyond 20 yards hence he never shot a thing, whereas I'm using a Cluelite which knocked spots off his lamp in the field. The long and the short of this outcome is my mate is going to buy a new lamp like mine and have done with it.

The logun may be useful for ratting in grain sheds but that's it! For rabbits it was totally useless :(

if it were me i'd be aiming for something with a dimmer switch and high power... at least if you walk into a big field you can have a good scan round to see whats about... i had the tracer mini 100meter and it was useful enough but i wasted alot of time walking around the fields to try and spot something in the short beam

Everyone has an opinion, a view and a use, but I struggle to understand how Logan stay in business with their lamp...it really is appalling.

Uttings do a very good deal on a Tracer Mini and Max PRO kit (both with everything you need) and a dimmer switch.

Always get a bit more than you think you want, that way you will not be disappointed and get a bit of future proofing as well!!
