broady 0
sounds a good idea , how much will the service cost tho? Quote Link to post
spookster1 24
Sounds good to me, but what are you thinking of in terms of cost. Normal microchip is £20, how much more would your chip be? I have know idea the cost of making the chip so wouldn't know what to expect re cost. Quote Link to post

Guest chook
No i wouldnt - microchips can way too easaly be removed, you can buy scanners 10 a penny now a days, threre have been some thefts of dogs where the chip has been removed, although some of the dogs in question was found to be a mess, as they had just dug for the chip, chips can over time move and if not inserted right - you can feel them, so quite easy for someone to remove. If i was going to get a gps system for the dogs - i would go for the one that was being brought out last year, it is on an anti theft collar, it cant be cut and cant be removed, although it is expencive. Guest SJM
I think its an excellent idea anything to make life harder for scumbag dog theives What would that price work out at in £? The way I see it is if you have a good dog in your kennel then you should go to any costs to protect that investment cos as soon as the dog is stolen from you, you will wish you had and no money will be able to replace the dog if its a real one Quote Link to post
craigyboy 1,274
good idea mate, but 400dollars is a bit steep for your average working man especially in todays climate,it does seem a bit steep for a chip when you can get a whole sat nav for less keep looking mate sure theyl be cheaper somewhere Quote Link to post

I see your point, but this chip don't work like the old the 1, the old chip works by moving the scanner over the dog, then blips when your over the chip giving you the place where the chip is inplanted, this is not good, also the old chip was put under the skin of the dog so could move or be removed. THE NEW CHIP IS PUT IN BY DEEP INTERMUSCLAR SHOT, AND THE SCANNER WILL PICK THE DOG UP WITH IN A ONE FOOT RADIUS OF THE DOG. Edited February 21, 2009 by DIGGIT Quote Link to post
