brain plummer tryed to make the best terrier out but he failed ,now most would of give up on the breed but not him he kept on trying when he should of stopped ,and the c**t made out it was the best terrier ever .thats why we dont like the dogs becouse they aint ,they are a out and out ratting dog, thats it ,out of all the plummer terriers, you may get a few that you can dig too and you are very lucky to have one that does ,you dont by a ford escort 1400 cc if you want to do 165mph ,and you dont buy a plummer terrier if you want it for earth work ..

Plumber may well have told the odd porky pie in claiming some of his writings were his own ,he was very clever at taking a slight truth ,heard from other people, and turning it into a book .Ive read some of these fairy tales and at no time does he state that the terrier he bred was an earth dog.People who keep these terriers do so for other reasons than fox control -accept it .If you take the going to ground thing further then it means other sections for bedlingtons and borders, as not many of these make the grade we expect from the blacks.Plubers deserve a space on here as they are after all-terriers.

the plummer was bred for ratting and they do this well i also like the look of them and if i was in to ratting in a big way i would have one. i for one like the posts from the working plummer terrier owners. esp the ones with good pics like keeps posts. to me they are no threat.and in all seriusness dont know why people have such a downer on the breed. now the creator thats a different matter.

 

the breed could do with more honest straight talking owners. and i think if they had there own page the people that dont like anything plummer need'nt go in

I would disagree mate, i,ve only seen three bedlingtons, and all 3 were real grafters, i,ve seen the odd border jib, but the majority were workers, with the odd couple of exceptions, that were as hard as any black dog, but i havent yet seen a plummer that would work fox, i know they exist, just havent seen , or know of one.Lumping them in with beddy,s and borders isnt fair to these breeds, the plummer on the whole isnt in the same class. Terrier, is after all, a corruption of the french word "terre", meaning "earth".I dont think there will be a separate plummer section here, there are other sites for plummer terriers.
