Guest miller1989 Posted February 19, 2009 Report Share Posted February 19, 2009 to be fair - the younger generation is the key to the survival of our chosen * sport* , as its them who will carry it on , .. so age asnt got a thing to do with it , both arguments on this are good and bad , and could do good by giving an insight to the sport , or bad and tear it apart , could go either way , is it worth a try , who knows? you wont know untill you try . my own opinion is if planned right , it could be a good article , but as pointed out ,how many people can honestly call their dog off a hare when been put up? so like LDR says - plenty of things to go wrong , its upto YOU to weigh up the PRO' AND CONS . all best with what ever happens HH If it does go ahead and the dog chasing something its not ment to just turn the lamp off what they cant see they cant comment on just keep calling your dog back lol! :rofl: :rofl: Quote Link to post

You'll find the dog number thing was to do with fox hunting, that you can use 2 hounds to flush a fox to a line of guns!!! I 'think' then if a safe shot cant be taken, the lead hound is allowed to kill the fox on its own or a bird of prey can be used!!!! This was explained to the hounds and they all agreed that Bonzo would be the one leading and the rest of the pack, with hundreds of years of breeding, said they'd put their instincts aside and stand and watch!!!! If he's really that interested in it, ask him to do a story about the hunting bill, what it entails, how it was pushed through parliament, and about the catastrophic effects it has on animal welfare..........then once he's done that, then maybe people might consider letting him know a bit more about our world???? ( not saying you will tho but that could be how there thinking! ) its like LDR said they are only intrested in scandal. if i was you i would forget the idea or let some old seasoned hunter take them out with his dogs that are top of there game. im sorry JPTfellterrier if it comes across a bit male shovanist , i dont mean it to sound that way i feel as tho im just protecting you from scandal or even worse if its a pervert . dont do it ! if you have made your mind up already to do it take some 1 to record the whole night on vid or dvd, that way if the reporters prints bad things about the night. and they printed it nothing like the night went you have your own proof for all to see. if they are right reporters they will have no objection to you recording the night.
