Carbon Fibre Bottles

Can anyone tell me what the testing regime is for carbon fibre air bottles? Is it every 5 years as per the steel ones?

Also, can anyone recommend somewhere to get one tested, preferably in Manchester/Cheshire? Would a dive shop be likely to test it? From what I understand the carbon bottles aren't too popular with divers as they are so light and boyouant that you need concrete boots to get underwater!

yes you are right for us divers they can be a pain in the ar*e for bouancy but that not the only thing,

generally us divers batter our gear about on boats and over rocks n stuff just trying to get in the bloody water!!

so gear has to be quite robust, heard a lot of complaints bout these bottles not being able to stand up to such knocks and getting

damaged, heard a lot of em also fail the hydro test when it is due....for what reason i do not know but true not popular
