Squirrel_Basher 17,100
i started hunting with the humble rabbit and rat but i have shot dogged and dug probably all the animals there is to on this island and when i get old and creaky and can just about a walk out in the fields with the dog i will no doubt end my hunting life on the rabbit and rat ...... so why is it that people think that the bigger animal you shoot hunt with a dog or dig to makes you a better hunter ??? the times i have heard so called hunting men put down lads that only go ferreting or lamp only rabbits is amazing ...... phrases like ... that dog is only any good for the bunnies he would never take a fox ... to soft f*****g rubbish he knows f**k all about hunting he only catches rabbits ........... he has never dug the garden let alone a f*****g fox ....... so just because a man chooses to only go ferreting or ratting does this make him any less a hunter ????????? ......... Sorry to rock the boat but-If someone puts 100% into their hunting ,takes it seriously and wants to do a good job of it ,sooner or later they will make a decision to specialise in a quarry. They need to own specialist dogs as no dog is the perfect all rounder as some would have you believe. The gamer breeds and crosses are a must for foxing, despite what the all rounders say.I agree that there are some twats about ,tatoos and bull dogs, boasting about their dogs BUT there are also a lot of people who dabble in it all but get good at nothing .Some of these think their dogs are excellent at the fox hunting if they take the odd fox and wont think twice about letting the dog be known as a fox dog whereas the opposite is true. Im not one to knock any mans sport as long as they are in it for the long term . Some people need reminding that their dog is no more than a rabbiter but I would never do it in a piss taking way . Guest baldie
The hard men, are the ones you can ring in the dead of night, or those who will forego all their days holiday, knock work, whatever, to help rescue a terrier. Our merry bunch are like that, the longest i,ve been on one is a week, and all the lads were there , all week long, some got into serious bother.Dont class all shaved heads with tattooes as thick please.
