Lovely place the Wooler area, we used to call it the 'promised land'..became a poachers grave yard during the eighties, when a few bad lads, from the Lynemouth and Ashington twenty did a pheasant pen and left all the birds lying..got a gamekeepers base ball bat across the side of me heed because of them..and one brave gamie chased us from Wooperton to the main street of Ashington one night, but by that time he had 2 jamsandwitches with him..eeee them were the days, pre ban of course, and for anyone whose not sure, it means before the ban I digress, we couldnt seem to get past 5 in one night for some reason. whin 463 Posted February 17, 2009 Report Share Posted February 17, 2009 wooler and, edinburgh the big whore it takes everything salmon lobsters venision hares pheasants, deer were sold just with the engine out everything else guts in ,2002 when e u rules and people checking a bit more put the wind up for some dealers still profitable but a diffrent way, game sausages burgers lions fillets , ends up the same but diffrent ways, wooler never realy hunted it well ,coursed several times but was a stop of and took dogged game ,was handy ,i get my kill when l;ads go out and talk about catching a few som eive met didnt even no how to prepare it and some think they are doing something great ,were realy to me money and a bit sport nothing else , strange how poeple get all big about knocking an odd deer over and think they are braveheart ,were i was brought up hares deer and phesis so part of your daily catch at times, Quote Link to post
