Bevwallis 7
After recently getting back a ferret after 3 weeks on the run she had the inevitable tick infestation . As there were so many tiny ones i decided to use a little bit of Frontline spot-on. I know it was a risk but i needed them all off asap as she was underweight etc-i only used a really small amount and over the past few days they have all dropped off. The product only said not for use on rabbits and as i figured the ferrets are more cat or dog like than rabbit like she would be ok. She is anyway- so what i want to ask is if anyone else has used this for flea/tick control? It would be handy if i can use this like i do with the dogs as we have quite a tick problem here at times Quote Link to post
Kay 3,709
Bev i have never used the spot on on any animal but used the spray with great sucess on cats dogs & ferrets , i do have some data somewhere with the contraindications for both somewhere & will post it on here asap I think when a ferrets that covered in ticks your as well using frontline , hope the little things back to normal very soon Quote Link to post

The Ferret Tamer 1
Hi being a rescue we use frontline spray in bulk, every fert that comes in gets a quick spray and we have never had any adverse results. Best Regards FT Quote Link to post

The one 8,504
Anybody think there would be a problem putting a couple of drops of frontline on a ferrets neck wouldn't they cover each other when they were all in the nest box ??? Quote Link to post
max abell 196
WE HAVE ALLWAYS USED FRONTLINE ON ALL OUR FERRETS SINCE IT CAME OUT AND NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEM WITH ANY OF OUR FERRETS BUT AS ANDY s410 SAID IN HIS REPLY WE ALLWAYS SPRAY THE FRONTLINE ON SOME RUBBER GLOVES MARRIGOLDS OR THROW AWAY TYPE THEN RUB IT INTO THE FERRETS IT SENDS THEM A BIT CRAZY FOR 5 MINS THE USUAL WAR DANCE ETC WHEN YOU PUT THEM DOWN ON THE FLOOR BUT DO THIS TWICE A YEAR AND YOU WILL VERY RARELY SEE A FLEA OR TICK ON THEM Quote Link to post
