Up until the ban some of the top kennels would regularly be winning coursing meetings and show rosettes. Coursing whippets were usually finer than the Mike Brown-types (got nothing against them by the way, brilliant at what they're bred for), and definitely smaller TTS than a lot of the whippets you see these days. I think 20" was the limit under coursing rules. Quote Link to post

Big bald beautiful 1,231
no... i have some whippet pictures These lines are well known http://thewhippetarchives.net/details.php?id=44385 Quote Link to post
Sonny Brindle 2
in my opinion the coursing whippet is a bit taller longer and alot more fine boned seen one good one the lad is from motherwell seen 2 of the dogs previouse litters all fetch £450 a pup no problem the dog works with ferrets jumps anything and has taken long ear no problem single handed pre ban he isnt so young anymore i have a bitch at the minute awaiting a dog from the lad im talking about. cracking coursing pick , the black dog above doesnt look of true coursing type to what iv seen but cant realy tell with the pick the dog im talking about is 24" but built like a razor blade . A 24" whippet would do the business on the hares, but it wouldn't be allowed to compete in organised whippet coursing – too tall. Quote Link to post
