mattydski 560
I understand your quandry.. thats a difficult one. If I had any choice what so ever, I would not put one on any of my dogs. But if its a collar or lose them by complaints from the neighbour..then I would consider it. Have you explained the problem to your neighbour? Explain that you are in a quandry and dont want to collar you dog, and that the route cause of the problem is out of you control? If you normally get on with your neighbour you may be surprised. Ask for their support? Then find out whoose the cat is and ask them to keep it in at night, tell them its because you leave your dogs out a night and you are worried about its safety. That should give them a heads up... claybusers al 9
matty is right but if you go down the collar route never use a citrus spray always use electric your dog understands instant punisment ie a shock with a spray it lasts for upto 20 minutes in its naseal receptors so is the equivilant of a 20 min continueous punisment

Also we were told by someone not to use it if there are more than 1 dog (dog or bitch) in the kennel together as it may cause a fight between the 2? not sure though

littlefish 587
I tried spray collars - waste of money. The dogs lost respect for them and they became ineffective very quickly - result - back to barking. Look on the DOGTRA site. Get the ones that are self-activating and re-chargable. They work. A couple of snaps off them and the barking soon stops. Now my dogs wear them and often they are not even switched on - the lesson has been learnt - result- no barking. I wish i had bought them first instead of the spray ones (the refills can work out quite dear too). I hate bloody cats coming into my garden - crapping in the flower pots!
