MR TEA POT 1,287
Well travelled to RHODEY'S on sunday for a bit of ferreting,he has just bought a new house,so i had a look while i was there.I am not saying its small but it remindered me of LORD OF THE RINGS when they first went to the shires where the hobbits live, you have to duck down to get in the door, you put the kettle on for a brew and when its finished boiling you have warmed the whole house up. .All the best mate and the good lady in your new house,i did buy you a bunch of flowers for a house warming gift but i could not get them through the front door . Any way on to the ferreting,we went to a field across the road from the shires and there was rabbits running everywhere,we put about 50 nets down on a cracking warren when the landowner came over and spoke to RHODEY,and said we had to go and didn't want us ferreting the place when he was not there,He was going to his friends,so we had to pick the nets up AGAIN .RHODEY told me he only got the permish the night before so i am assuming he does not trust us enough yet, which is understandbly. So we moved to a farm at the back of his house,i said knock on the door first before we go,the owners said no probs and showed where the rabbits were. When i saw the place i thought feck me no where near enough nets or ferrets,so we walked about looking for the smaller sets.We managed a total of 8 rabbits which was RHODEYS personnal best so he was happy. We will be back next saturday with more ferrets and nets to hit it hard before they start breeding, the owner was pleased, asked when we was coming back and made us a brew . A few pics of the day. A few of the land Me entering the ferret in the first sett. 1 in the stop net This pic shows a lump on RHODEY'S HEAD where i chucked the locator box over the hedge and hit him on the head with it its above his left eye,the pic does not do it justice it came up like a hen egg . MR FRODO digging one out,he loves that spade can't get it off him The ferret that was dug to. pulling out the rabbit And a quick despatch, you can see on the rabbits back where the ferret was scratching it. RHODEY with one in the net EOD SHOT All in all a good days ferreting. Thanks mate for the invite see you next week Just have to add RHODEY had his new stop nets today and caught a rabbit in one,got the rabbit out and then dropped it and watched it run away ,a valuable lesson learned there mate ALWAYS ALWAYS despatch your rabbit in the net.
