golden eagle for deer ???

Recommended Posts

Good luck mate but its a recipe for disaster in my eyes. 1800 acres isnt that much mate from an eagles point of view, and as for munties, again you wont catch them regularly in woods. If you are flying regularly over just 1800 then there is little chance of roe regularly coming out into the open to be caught.

Good luck anyway , hope it all comes good, seriously. (you might need to find out whether hunting deer with bops is legal in britain first, i dont think it is)

cheers mate we will beat them from cover like we do with dogs if they dont show im confident that blake knows what he is doing :)

the original copy of that clip is much longer and was filmed in the czech republic, the reason why i know this was because i was there and actually saw it get caught right in front of me.

think it is illegal to hunt deer in this country with eagles too.

hey my mate has a golden eagle which he uses for roe deer they can do the job very good .he flies it around his dog but it has taken alot of time and patience to get it that way it doesnt happen overnight you know. i would suggest to your mate he gets a ferruginous hawk (first timers eagle) i had 1 and it it copletely put me in my place :thumbdown: and now i just stick to the harris hawks

If i were you i would get in touch with the BFC (brittish falconry club) although as with most things some may talk complete b*llsh*t, but by and large they know what they are talking about.

i have heard of people flying eagles at deer and fox (and hares if you like) from ny aunt who was one of the best and true proffessional falconers in the country.

If you mate want to fly deer with a goldie alongside your lurcher tell him to have a look at idiotsinfalconry.co.uk he would get on well there, its illegal in this country and the way you are describing you are going to do it im guessing he has very little experience with birds of prey if any at all, beating through the bushes??? thats not how eagles hunt! i doubt anyone breeding golidies will e daft enough to sell one to your friend after hearing this and god help him and the bird if they do!
