co-terminus license?

Hi again, my FAC expires in july 2012 but my SGC expires in september this year.

Firstly,do i need to re apply for it with the same form as the original one when i first applied, with plenty of notice,and secondly,how do i go about getting both on one certificate?

Or is there a separate form for this?

My issuing force is Winsford,Cheshire.

someone told me i couldnt do it because of the differing expiry dates.

Its all seems a bit complicated to me. but i might be being thick!!

as far as i know just fill out your fac renewal and tick the box for the coterminus...add the sgc form to it, rmember 8 photos in total for it and you can use one of your fac referees as the sgc one. send them all off together together with the £50.....just renewed my fac and applied for a coterminus last week [although a new sgc app]...you may lose a few months on one or the other but the cost of the coterminus is only a tenner more so shouldnt be a prob......[open to correction here]

Hi...that could be...i went for my fac renewal £40 and when i contacted them they said just £10 extra on top of the renewal so i sent £50....they have returned my fac wit ha letter it is being processed so will wait and see!!!!!

You still get 2 certs, just a lot cheaper and a lot less hassle to go co-terminous.

8 photo's?? i read my form as 4, "In the case of an application for both a firearm and a shot gun certificate each of the referees should endorse a seperate photograph and thwo photographs must be signed by you"

Its 4 for a FAC

 

and

 

4 for a SGC

 

and 8 for a coterminous

 

...unless your region has leapt ahead of other regions.....

 

...hopefully they will change that VERY soon as all that most regions do now is scan one picture and the same photo shows up on BOTH certificates...just wasting our time and money getting two lots of photos!!

You'd think you could keep a shotgun on a FAC. as specially if it was for a large caliber rifle.

So if got a 6 shot semi auto variation on my FAC,i can do away with a SGC?

seems daft to me.

The problem is Jim, you have to have good reason for the Semi. Also, every quary you want to kill has to be approved and listed. So if you have a 6 shot semi for Pigeon control (good reason) you couldnt use it on pheasant or Rabbit, unless listed.

So if you use your shottie alot, you do need an SGC.

It is daft, only a mass murderer could do more damage with a 5/6 shot shotty than a standard 12bore.

 

But just maybe thats what they(authorities) are targeting????????

 

Just seems that the headline of 2 being shot would be more palletable than 5 or 6???

 

To balance this, I too wanted to add a multi shot shotty to my FAC, but the justification makes it seem much less worthwhile.

 

 

I suppose the real question is, and this is subject to accepting that a FAC is an evolutionary move on from the SC, why can't all FAC holders have a shotgun on the same ticket?

Well the £50 was well spent..FEO arrived last night, spent 20 mins, he has ok'd everything and told me to start looking for a shotgun. either a 20g or a 12g, d/b secondhand.....i can go shopping!!!!

Job well done mate. I recently got back into shooting, got the FAC only. Mistake, can't do that effeciently with no shotgun.
